How do I configure INNERGY for nesting, sawing, and single-part program creation?

INNERGY offers robust configuration options for optimizing nesting, sawing, and single-part program creation. Below are step-by-step instructions to help you set up these features effectively.

Configuring Scrap Settings for Nesting and Sawing

To ensure square offcuts are produced during nesting or sawing, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Scrap Settings: - Navigate to Toolbox Setup > Processing Stations Setup. - Open the processing station you use for nesting or sawing (e.g., Nesting Optimizer or Microvellum Sawing Optimizer). - Go to the Scrap tab.

  2. Enable and Configure Scrap Options: - Enable Save Scrap to cut usable leftover material into rectangular scrap pieces instead of irregular waste. - Set thresholds to determine which offcuts are saved: - Minimum Scrap Area: Define the total area required for a piece to be saved. - Minimum Scrap Dimension: Specify the minimum width or length for saved scraps. - Choose whether the thresholds apply to Length OR Width or Length AND Width.

  3. Optional: Predefine Scrap Sizes: - If you want specific, standard scrap sizes, predefine these in your material inventory. The optimizer will save offcuts to match these sizes.

  4. Enable Destroy Offal: - On the same Scrap tab, enable Destroy Offal to cut remaining irregular waste into smaller pieces, preventing it from being mistaken for reusable scrap.

  5. Commit Scrap to Inventory: - Saved scrap pieces will appear on the nest with part labels. To add them to your inventory, go to Scrap Options > Commit Scrap To Inventory. - For automation, enable Automatically Consume Scrap Inventory.

Creating Single-Part Programs from Nesting Setups

To generate single-part programs and ensure borders aren’t routed, follow these steps:

  1. Duplicate the Nesting Toolfile: - Copy your existing nesting toolfile. - Change the post name in the copied file by replacing "nest" with "ptp".

  2. Assign the Toolfile to a Single-Part Processing Station: - Assign the modified toolfile to a single-part processing station.

  3. Disable Border Routing: - In the toolfile, set Border Routing to "Never Route Borders".

This configuration ensures that single-part programs are created without routing the part borders.
