With the new plan viewer release some of our tools and how they work have changed.
Current status: As of Release 128.0.0 (April 2026), the New Plan Viewer is now the default viewer when opening any Takeoff. All navigation — including redirect arrows, drawing references, and sheet search (Shift+F) — routes to the New Plan Viewer by default. The legacy Plan Viewer remains accessible through the viewer menu.

Additional New Plan Viewer Capabilities
The following features have been added to the New Plan Viewer across recent releases:
Right-mouse-button panning (Release 125): In addition to center-click + drag, you can now pan using the right mouse button.
CTRL+Z while drawing (Release 128): Pressing CTRL+Z (or CMD+Z on Mac) while drawing polylines or polygons removes the last drawn segment without leaving drawing mode.
Thumbnail View for Sheets (Release 128): Switch to a Thumbnail View to visually preview sheets without opening each one individually. Toggle between List and Thumbnail views and hover over thumbnails for quick actions.
Locked layer visual indicators (Release 128): Shapes on locked layers are now displayed at reduced opacity with dashed strokes, making it easy to identify protected shapes.
Bezier Curve tool removed (Release 128): The Bezier Curve tool has been removed from the shape selector. Existing Bezier annotations still display correctly. Use the legacy Plan Viewer to create new Bezier curves.
AI Product Detection (Release 125): AI can automatically recognize products from your drawings in the New Plan Viewer. Select an elevation and the AI suggests possible products — currently optimized for cabinets. Once Area Products are set in the palette, use the AI button to convert suggested products into real products.
AI Location Detection (Release 124 & 128): AI can generate Location Numbers and Names automatically when you draw a location. Release 128 added an Advanced Location Format mode in Takeoff Settings to customize naming patterns using {Name} and {Number} variables.
Snap-to-point (Release 121): Draw more accurately using snap-to-point functionality, which leverages the PDF sublayer.
Top-item selection (Release 125): Click once to select the topmost item in a stack of overlapping elements.
