How to Add Custom Fields to a Label (Example: Material SKU)

Follow these simple steps to add a custom field—like a Material SKU—to a receiving label.

Step 1: Open and Edit a Label

  • Navigate to Configuration → Labels from the left-side panel.

  • Select the Materials tab.

Choose one of the following:

  • Use your current default label

  • Clone an existing label (click the three dots on the right)

  • or

  • Create a new label

    • Open the label and click Edit.

Step 2: Add a Custom Field Name

  • Enter a Label Name and optional Note if needed.

  • In the layout tools, click the capital “A” (text tool).

  • A new text box will appear on the label.

  • Use your arrow keys to position it.

  • Resize it by dragging the corners.

  • With the text box selected:

  • Go to Properties → Custom Text

  • Enter the desired field name (e.g., Material SKU)

  • Press Enter to apply.

Step 3: Link the Field to Data

  • Click the capital “A” again to create a second text box. Position it next to the first field (typically to the right in column two).

  • Under Properties, uncheck the Custom Text Box.

  • This opens a dropdown menu.

  • Select {INNERGY SKU} from the list, this will add your brackets and tell INNERGY to populate the needed info in this field.

You can further adjust:

  • Font style and size

  • Rotation

  • X and Y positioning

  • Width and height of the text box

Step 4: Save and Review

  • Click Save when finished.

  • Review the label to confirm the new custom field appears correctly.
