Placing Products on a Wall

How to add products from the library onto a wall and position them in a Model Space.

Products are the 3D models — such as cabinets — that you attach to a wall inside a Model Space. You pick a product from the Products Library, hover over a wall to preview it, and click to place it. Once a product is on a wall, you can move it, set its exact position, and align it with other products.

Good to know: You need at least one wall in your Model Space before you can place a product. If there is no wall yet, add one first, then come back to place your products.

Before you start

Open the Model Space you want to work in and make sure it has at least one wall. You can place products in the Plan, Wall Elevation, or 3D view — use Wall Elevation when you want to set height and spacing precisely on a single wall face.

Place a product

1. Open the Products Library panel on the left.

2. Search for or scroll to the product you want. Click the star on any product to add it to Favorites for quick access.

3. Click the product name to select it. A preview of the product follows your cursor.

4. Move the cursor over a wall. The product snaps to the wall surface, and on-screen values show its elevation and clearances.

5. Click on the wall to place the product. Place more of the same product with additional clicks, or press Esc when you are done.

Tip: As you position the preview, alignment lines appear to help you line the product up with the edges and centers of nearby products. Type a value while placing to set an exact elevation or clearance.

Set a product's position

Select a placed product to open its properties panel. Use the Position section to place it exactly on the wall:

Field

What it sets

Use it to

Left / Right

Distance from the wall edges

Set how far the product sits from the left or right end of the wall.

Center

Horizontal center position

Place the product's center at an exact point along the wall.

Elevation

Height above the floor

Raise or lower the product, e.g. for upper cabinets.

Outset

Distance from the wall surface

Pull the product off the wall face when needed.

Use the Dimensions section to set the product's Width, Height, and Depth, and the Clearance section to set the gaps kept on the left and right of the product.

Align and space multiple products

Select two or more products to open the Spacing / Alignment tools. These let you tidy up a run of products in one step:

Center in Wall – centers the selected products on the wall.

Equal Horizontal Clearances – spaces them evenly across the wall.

Align Lefts / Rights / Tops / Bottoms – lines the products up along one edge.

Same Widths / Heights / Depths – makes the selected products the same size.

Note: Some alignment tools line products up against the last product you selected, so select your reference product last.

Move, copy, and delete products

After a product is placed you can keep editing it:

Move – drag the product on the wall, or type new values in the Position panel. You can drag a product onto a different wall.

Copy – select a product and press Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V to paste a copy.

Delete – select a product and press Delete, or right-click and choose Delete.

Undo – press Ctrl+Z to reverse your last change.
