How to Manage Finishes at the Opportunity Stage

Learn how to define and manage decorative finishes directly at the Opportunity stage, include finish legends in bid proposals, and ensure a seamless handoff to production on project conversion.

INNERGY allows you to define and manage decorative finishes directly at the Opportunity stage — not just at the Project level. This means you can build your full finish structure during the bidding process, include a finish legend in your proposals, and ensure a clean handoff to production when the Opportunity converts to a Project.

Benefits

  • Build the finish structure once — it transfers automatically from Opportunity to Project on conversion.

  • Include a detailed finish legend in your bid proposals, giving customers a professional and complete picture.

  • Align estimating and production teams from the very start of a job.

  • Keep all finish information inside INNERGY without needing external tools or workarounds.

  • View all finishes defined across Opportunities and Projects in the global Finishes grid under Project Management.

How to Add Finishes to an Opportunity

  1. Open the Opportunity from Sales > Opportunities.

  2. Navigate to the Finishes tab within the Opportunity.

  3. Add and configure the required finishes for the job (finish type, code, name, manufacturer, number, and notes).

  4. Save your changes.

Converting an Opportunity to a Project

When an Opportunity is converted to a Project, all finishes defined at the Opportunity stage are automatically transferred to the Project. No duplicate data entry is required.

Viewing All Finishes Across Projects

All finishes defined in both Opportunities and Projects are accessible in the global Finishes grid, located in the Project Management module. Use this grid to get a company-wide view of finish specifications.

Including Finishes in Bid Proposals

To include a finish legend in your Bid Proposal reports using the Custom Report Designer, see the CRD - Opportunity Finishes on Bid Proposals article.
