Overview
A manual Work Order is one you create directly in INNERGY rather than generating it from the Product List, so it usually carries planned Labor but no Products. You can merge manual Work Orders the same way you merge Work Orders that contain Products — INNERGY combines their planned Labor hours onto the Work Order you merge into. You can also mix the two in a single merge, where some of the selected Work Orders have Products and some do not.
Before you start
Your role must include the Work Order Merge permission for the grid you are working in — the Project Management Work Order permission, or the Shop Floor Work Orders grid permission if you merge from the Shop Floor Production grid.
Every Work Order you select must be in the same Project.
Every Work Order you select must be the same type — Sales, Drafting, Production, or Installation.
Every Work Order you select must be in Open status.
Every Work Order you select must use the same BOM Type. You cannot mix Budget Material and Material Output in one merge.
You can merge up to 10 Work Orders at a time.
You must select at least two Work Orders — the target, plus at least one source.
Merging manual Work Orders
Open the Work Orders grid. From a project, go to the Work Orders tab. To work across projects, go to Project Management > Work Orders.
Select the checkbox next to each Work Order you want to merge — between 2 and 10 of them.
Click Merge in the toolbar above the grid.
In the Merge Work Orders dialog, review the list of selected Work Orders. A warning icon next to a Work Order means it has no Products; hover it to see This Work Order has no products; only its labor will be merged. That is expected for a manual Work Order and does not block the merge. Clear the checkbox next to any Work Order you want to leave out.
Choose the Target Work Order. This is the Work Order everything else is merged into, and it is the one that survives with the combined contents.
Check Merged Work Order New Name. It is prefilled with the target Work Order's name. Edit it if you want the result renamed. The field is required.
Optionally check Merge values of Adjustment to add the Adjustment values from all selected Work Orders onto the target Work Order's Adjustment.
Optionally check Move files to move the attachments from the source Work Orders onto the target Work Order.
Click Merge. INNERGY runs a validation check and shows the result under Validation Report. If validation passes, a confirmation appears asking you to merge the selected Work Orders into the target.
Click OK to complete the merge.
What the merge moves
Planned Labor added manually — hours for the same Labor Item are added together onto the target Work Order, and removed from the source Work Orders. This is what makes a labor-only manual Work Order worth merging.
Products, along with their related Materials, BOM items, and Labor Items, move to the target Work Order.
Material Output moves to the target Work Order.
Adjustment values move only if you check Merge values of Adjustment. The combined total lands on the target Work Order and the source values are set to zero.
Files move only if you check Move files.
What happens to the source Work Orders
Merging does not delete or close the source Work Orders. They stay in the grid, in Open status, with their Products and planned Labor removed. Close or delete them yourself if you no longer need them.
