Managing Requests in the Request and Fulfill Queue

1 Accessing and Viewing Information

  • A shop floor manager or similar role can access the queue after receiving a report from a material handler.

  • They can pull in the data, check everything, and then select Prepare the request and fulfill.

  • The queue displays all the information set up in the Excel sheet, including project, work order, facility, etc.

  • Notes: Users can add notes to individual requests.

2 Handling Exceptions

  • The Exceptions column highlights issues, such as insufficient on-hand quantity (when the required quantity exceeds the available quantity).

  • Users can filter based on these exceptions.

  • Example: Changing a material's bin location from bin one (where 24 units were on hand for a need of 3) to bin four (where 0 units were on hand) immediately changes the on-hand quantity to zero and triggers an insufficient on-hand exception.

  • Caveat: To accurately determine material housing, the aggregation of data may require pulling master inventory information using APIs.

3 Modifying and Bulk Editing

  • Individual requests can be edited to change details like the bin, work order, or other fields.

  • Bulk Edit Functionality:

  • Select multiple items.

  • Click Edit.

  • Modify fields such as need by date, delivery location, facility, or add a material note to all selected items simultaneously.

4 Fulfilling Requests

1. Select the material(s) to fulfill.

2. Click Fulfill request.

3. Note: It is not necessary to explicitly select the work order or project at this stage, as the grid and queue already associate the material with its respective project and work order.

4. Fulfillment updates are immediate.
