How Do I Import Contacts into INNERGY?

Step-by-step guide to importing Companies, Offices, and Contacts into the INNERGY Contacts Library in bulk.

If you have existing contact data in a spreadsheet or another system, you can import it into INNERGY's Contacts Library rather than entering each record manually. This is especially useful during initial setup or when onboarding a large number of companies and contacts.

Before importing, review the Company → Office → Contact hierarchy. Your import data must respect this structure — each Contact must belong to an Office, and each Office must belong to a Company. See Understanding the Company, Office, and Contact Hierarchy for details.

What Can Be Imported?

The Contacts Library import supports:

  • Companies

  • Offices (linked to an existing Company)

  • Contacts / People (linked to an existing Office)

Preparing Your Import File

Before importing, prepare your data in the required format:

  1. Organize your data so that Company, Office, and Contact records are clearly separated or identifiable.

  2. Ensure each Office record includes a reference to its parent Company.

  3. Ensure each Contact record includes a reference to its parent Office.

  4. Remove any duplicate company names — each company must be unique in the Contacts Library.

  5. Save your file in the format required by the INNERGY import tool (typically .xlsx or .csv).

Running the Import

  1. Navigate to Libraries > Contacts in INNERGY.

  2. Locate the Import option (typically accessible from the grid toolbar or an action menu).

  3. Select your prepared import file.

  4. Map the columns in your file to the corresponding fields in INNERGY.

  5. Review the import preview for any errors or mismatched data.

  6. Confirm and run the import.

After the Import

  • Review the imported records in the Contacts Library to confirm they are correctly structured under their parent Companies and Offices.

  • Check for any records that failed to import — the import tool will flag rows with errors.

  • Manually create or correct any records that did not import successfully.

Note: If you have specific questions about your import file format or need help mapping fields, contact your INNERGY implementation team or reach out to INNERGY Support.
