A scene is a saved view of your model — a plan, elevation, product face, or 3D view — that you can place on a sheet. There are two kinds: Live and Static.
Good to know: A Live Scene updates as your model changes. A Static Scene is a frozen, hidden-line snapshot that doesn’t change until you re-create it. |

Create a Live Scene
1. Open the model space and frame the view you want.
2. Open the Scenes panel and click Create.
3. Enter a Name and click Create.
Tip: You can also right-click in a model space view and choose Create scene. |

1. Open the model space and frame the view.
2. In the Scenes panel, click Create Static.
3. Enter a Name and click Create.
Note: A static scene takes a moment to render its hidden-line image — a progress indicator shows on the scene while it processes. |
Convert a live scene to static
Already placed a live scene and want to lock it? Right-click it on the sheet and choose Convert to Static.
Quick checklist
• Frame the view in the model space first.
• Use Create for a live scene, Create Static for a snapshot.
• Lock a live scene later with Convert to Static.
