Overview
This guide walks your team through the initial setup of your INNERGY database. These foundational steps establish your company identity, facility structure, departments, roles, and employees before you begin the more detailed module-specific configuration. You may not know exactly what settings you want to use yet - that is perfectly fine. You can always come back and make changes as your implementation progresses.
Step 1 - Viewing in peAk
This guide is available inside peAk.
Step 2 - Company Profile Setup
Navigate to Configuration > Company Profile. This is the central hub for your organization's settings in INNERGY. Watch the Video on Company Profile Setup for a full walkthrough before making changes.
Step 2 - INNERGY Dashboard showing Company Profile in the Configuration menu
Step 3 - Company Profile - Details
Navigate to Company Profile > Details. Enter your company information - name, address, contact details, and any other fields relevant to your organization. This information appears on PDFs and documents generated from INNERGY.
Step 3 - Company Profile > Details tab
Step 4 - Company Profile - Facilities
Navigate to Company Profile > Facilities. Update your Facility record to match your main facility information - the first Facility you create automatically becomes your default Facility, used as the fallback across imports, employee creation, and work order routing. Most companies use the city they are located in as the Facility Name.
Important
DO NOT create more than one Facility before speaking with your Onboarding Specialist. Multiple Facilities have significant implications for how inventory, purchasing, and reporting are structured across your organization.
Step 4 - Company Profile > Facilities showing default facility with Warehouses
Step 5 - Company Profile - Departments
Navigate to Company Profile > Departments. Create, edit, or delete Departments as needed. Simple is better to start - you can always add more structure later.
• Departments organize employees for time tracking review and for shop floor Labor Items used with Gemba Boards.
• For now, focus on departments based on how you want to group and review employees for time tracking.
Note
Departments are NOT what employees clock into. Employees clock into Labor Items in the Labor Library, which is configured separately.
You can also ignore the Timecard Approval Policy column for now. That will be reviewed and configured during Time Tracking Setup.
Step 5 - Company Profile > Departments showing Shop Floor and Office departments
Step 6 - Company Profile - Settings
Navigate to Company Profile > Settings. At this stage, update only the time and date information in the General section. Other settings across this page will be configured during their respective module setup steps.
Note on Currency
INNERGY supports setting your actual currency code (USD, CAD, AUD, NZD, and others) under Company Profile > Settings. The currency symbol shown throughout INNERGY - on PDFs, grids, and reports - is generated from that code, so confirm it is set correctly for your country before generating any customer-facing documents.
Step 6 - Company Profile > Settings showing General section
Step 7 - More Information on Company Profile
For a deeper reference on all Company Profile settings and what each option controls, review the Company Profile Knowledge Base Article. This is a useful bookmark as you work through the rest of your implementation.
Step 8 - Roles Setup
Navigate to Configuration > Roles. Create, edit, or adjust Roles and their permissions to match how your team accesses INNERGY.
• The default Roles are a good starting point - adjust them as you become more comfortable with INNERGY.
• Anyone who needs access to the INNERGY Success Hub should be assigned the INNERGY Success Hub Role in addition to any other Role they need.
Step 8 - Configuration > Roles showing default role list with permissions
Step 9 - Employee Setup
Navigate to Human Resources > Employees. Create employee records for everyone who will access INNERGY.
• Create Employees as they need access to INNERGY.
◦ Review and adjust Employee Demographics.
◦ Assign Roles to each employee.
◦ Set Digests for email notification preferences.
• Shop floor employees often do not have a company email address. They can still be set up with a Kiosk login method - a PIN or an RFID badge - instead of an email-based login, so they can clock in without needing an email account.
Pro Tip - Bulk Employee Creation
If you have a large number of employees to create, there is an Employee Upload Spreadsheet available. Fill it out and send it to your Onboarding Specialist to import them in bulk.
Review the Employee Setup Knowledge Base Article for full setup instructions.
Step 9 - Human Resources > Employees grid
Step 10 - Kiosk Hardware
Hardware for your shop floor is not required immediately, but it is useful to start planning your setup early. Here is what is available:
• Required - Kiosk Devices for your shop floor to access INNERGY for Time Tracking.
• Optional - Scanners for Time Tracking, Material Management, Part Tracking, or Shipping.
• Optional - Printers for Labels.
• Optional - Monitors or TVs for Gemba Boards.
