Part Tracking: Out of the Box

Updated over a week ago

In this article we will go over how to set up part tracking out of the box. This article will us MV as a reference for Barcode Data from the Engineering Sync, However the same process would apply all others after getting Parts Sync'd in from your Engineering Source.

Requirements:

  • Parts Sync'd to INNERGY with Part Barcode data

  • CV, MV, Mozaik, Production Coach, and Ardis

  • Barcode Scanner

  • Labels with Part Barcode on it (can be digital)

  • Access to Setup a Sorting Rack

Sorting Rack Setup:

  • On the Navigation Bar in INNERGY go to "Configuration > Sorting Rack"

  • At the top of the page you will find a "+ Create" Button click it to start setting up a new one.

  • Give it a Name and then select the Auto Pick Bin check box.

  • In this example we will not give it Subassembly Types but adding a subassembly type will lock that Sorting Rack to only accept Parts from that Subassembly Type.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the creation page to the layout section.

  • To add a bin you need to drag and drop a square from the General Toolbar on to the white area.

  • Below is the Example I'll be using.

Once created go back to the Grid View of the Sorting Rack and select the checkbox for the newly created bin and then select the "Print Bin Labels" button. This will bring all the labels for the 10 bins in the above screenshot. Your number may be different depending on the number of bins you create in the Rack.

You would take those labels and physically Label them but for testing you can keep them until you're ready to do so.

Using the Sorting Rack:

Assuming you have Shipment Items on a Work Order with Parts that have Barcodes that came from the ESD Open a tab with in the Kiosk in INNERGY. At the top right of INNERGY select the Kiosk button

Then from most Kiosk Screens at the bottom right you will find the Sorting Rack Button.

The first time you load into the Sorting Rack you will need to turn on the "Scanning External Labels" toggle. This will allow you to scan your Labels created from your Engineering Software. This is relation to the Part Barcode that comes in with the Parts from the ESD.

The simplest way to select a Sorting Rack is to scan one of the Bin Labels from the Rack. The labels we printing (or saved to a PDF) has a QR Code on it. Scan Bin 1 with the Kiosk Tab Focused. Having the Kiosk Tab Focused is a common mistake so just select somewhere in the white and then scan the QR Code.

Once you have scanned the QR Code you will see the Display update to have the Bin we created and have Bin 1 Selected. Below in red show where the Sorting Rack and Bin is selected. In the Blue Box is where the Instructions are as to what the Sorting Rack Screen is expecting you to take action on.

Now this is where you would scan your Part Barcode on your external label to have it get sorted in to the Bins. Once you scan the Part Barcode you will get a Display Message of the results of the scan

Back on the Main Sorting Rack Screen you will now see that Bin 1 now has information about the product and parts stored in that bin.

Red: Number of Parts in the Bin for that Product

Green: Engineering ID of the Product. (Only one Product can be in a Bin at a time)

Teal: Name of the Product in the Bin

Pink: Work Order Number

On the Left side you will also find this information plus more

The Background Color of the Bin will change depending on the underlying information about the parts. To see what parts are missing or have been sorted plus other information select the down arrow on the top right of the Bin

A popup modal will display. In this modal you will find a Missing and Sorted grids.

In the popup modal you can manually add parts and also mark them as damaged.

To scan a part as Damaged on the Sorting Rack view select the button named "Report Damage"

This will update the instructions at the bottom right under the Bin view.

Now scan the part and it will mark it as being damaged you will get a confirmation that the status was changed to Damaged
